The city of Alexandria is the Eighteenth judicial district of Virginia.

The city's homage to our veterans is the annual Memorial Day Jazz festival held at Waterfront park. The performers usually include a military band group and other invited well known jazz personalities and bands. Seating here is on the grass, so it would be wise to bring your lawn chairs or a blanket. There is also food such as barbeque, fried chicken, hot dogs, hamburgers, snow cones and funnel cake for sale; but attendees are welcome to bring a picnic lunch or dinner; just leave the alcoholic beverages at home. The Alexandria King Street Art festival is held in September on King street in Old Town where more than 200 juried artists will display their work.
