The American Jazz museum is not just a place where inanimate objects are on display. This institution has live jazz in the Blue room, the annual jammin at the Gem concert series, educational programs which feature stories and poetry of jazz and jazz inspired art and exhibits in a gallery which is constantly changing . You have to take the youngsters to the Toy and Miniature museum in this city. On display are a large collection of nostalgic toys, fine-scale miniatures and marbles in the 38 room house that is the museum on the University of Missouri Kansas City campus. Its world's largest collection of fine-scale miniatures is characterized by the intricate craftsmanship exhibited by each piece which is a working reproduction of an actual piece. The Kansas City museum, located at the former urban estate of a lumber baron and civic leader, is another place worth visiting. Located on a a bluff overlooking the Missouri River Valley; the site includes the four-story Beaux Arts limestone residence, Corinthian Hall; the Carriage House; the StoryTarium in the former Conservatory and the Museum Visitor Center.
