Pitman Boro was called 'Pitman Grove' a century ago, when it was a summer camp meeting place for people in and around the region. Circle Ave across the street from the court, has Avenues 1 through 12 as it's 12 spokes. Today these routes have residential buildings on them, but a century ago, when the area was a religious summer camp area, these 12 spokes were though of to be the 12 disciples of Christ. is a US Route 322, Interstate-295 and Routes 40, 42, 55, 73 and 624 traverse this borough. There are no schools buses in Pitman, kids walk to their schools!
