East Liverpool is famous for its pottery and as per records the pottery industry began in 1838 and James Bennett was the person instrumental for starting and he was a potter from Staffordshire, England. While visiting East Liverpool you could see the Museum for Ceramics which is housed in the Old City Post Office. It has some beautiful and exquisite pieces of pottery. The museum also airs a small documentary movie of 35 minutes on East Liverpool’s history and its deep connection with pottery. The museum remains closed on Monday and Tuesday and is open for visitation for the rest of the week.
