| About the area |
Madison is the capital of the state and the county seat. It began before 1940 on swamp and forest land between a couple lakes and was named for the President who died around then. Streets were named for signers of the Constitution. Makes you wonder who got the ones on the wrong side of the tracks. The city is intersected by Interstate highways 90, 39 and 94. Considered a healthy municipality with good schools and safe to boot. With over 200K residents there are 50,000 students. Go Badgers! Money Magazine once named "Best Place to Live". Guess they like winters with below freezing temperatures.
