The city is quite small with a population of under 1000. Gaston is the site of the Annual Wapato Showdown in August. Here you will see every make of car and truck and displays of customized vehicles. There is a motorcycle rally as well as a parade. Don't have to go hungry; there is a steak feed to keep paradegoers full. The all you can eat Gaston Firemens Pancake Breakfast will certainly top of all your eating on the main day of the showdown. Judging on the cars is held and a Best Pipes contest for motorcycles. a half hour later. The city park covers five acres and is primarily oriented to
baseball and softball. |
